課程概述 |
The objective of this course is to give students an overview of major theories, debates, and empirical results in international finance. We will focus on the following topics: currency exchange rates, exchange rate regimes, foreign exchange parity relations, foreign exchange determination and forecasting, balance of payments, and global capital markets. Although these topics may be highly mathematical, we will quickly review the technical parts and emphasize the concepts and intuitions of them. |

課程目標 |
Students are encouraged to ask and discuss the applications of these theories in the real world. In addition, students have to read and present some papers from central banks. By the end of the course, students should have developed a point of view about news and events related to international finance. |

課程要求 |
Class performance (10%): basically based on your attendance rate
Homework (15%): we will have homework for every topic
Group presentation (15%): each group consists of 4 students to present one required paper
Mid-Exam (30%)
